Here are some photos of the second snow we got this year, in early February. Ella was a bit under the weather, so she stayed in, and Andy didn't want to go out in the cold so he was only out for about 5 minutes to check out Kaylee's snowman. He did go out a bit later once the snow was melting - it's apparently more fun to splash in the puddles the runoff makes than play in the freezing snow.

Kaylee turns SIX!
In lieu of a big birthday party, Kaylee chose to take one friend (her BFF Erin) with her while she got her ears pierced and then to the American Girl Bistro for lunch and the AG store for some shopping. The plan was to get her doll's hair done at the AG doll hair salon, but when I told her the line to wait to make an appointment for that (they only take in-person appointments the day of!) was 30 minutes and then we'd still have to wait until after our lunch (so at least 2-3 hours) until the appointment, she decided to get an outfit instead (a pre-arranged deal). So we shopped until I dropped (I think they'd have gone on!!), then they changed their doll's outfits and played around in the mall until our lunch time. They had a great time then it was back to our house for cupcakes and more playing.
Kaylee did great with the ear piercing! She chose aquamarine studs (her birthstone, though she just picked it because she liked the color). They pierced one ear at a time and while she did ask (after having the first pierced) if she could wait a minute before they pierced the second (sorry, nope, just have to get it over with), she only slightly flinched when each was done and didn't cry at all. She said they were a little sore for a few hours, but by bed she said all the pain was gone.

Andy turns THREE!
For the 2nd year in a row, Andy's had his birthday party at Catch Air. The kids love it and it's so easy for us - just bring the cake, some extra drinks and the birthday boy; no clean up before/after for us!! Our Disney/Pixar boy chose a Planes theme for this year (and chose Buzz Lightyear to come dance during the party). Andy had a fabulous time and is still talking about it (2 months later...oops, slow to post). Here are the party pics!
