Little Talker

As of last Wed (July 4), Andy has said a couple two word sentences, both involving Mickey Mouse.  :)  On the 4th we went to my cousin's house for dinner and Andy brought over a book with a picture of baby Mickey Mouse sleeping and he said, "night night, Mickey Mouse." (Of course, it sounded more like, "nei nei, mama.")  A couple days later he was watching an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and when it ended he said, "bye bye, Mickey Mouse."  And he's said that after watching it a couple times since, and he'll say it when we finish reading a Mickey Mouse book we have (or in the middle of it as he closes it indicating he's done reading it).

Doing her job

One of Kaylee's jobs is to feed Tigger in the morning and evening.  Just after we finished eating, she was sent to her room until bedtime.  A few minutes later she came down the stairs (to the locked baby gate at the bottom) saying she wanted to do her job; I told her to go to her room, I was going to feed the cat tonight.  She said, "don't do my job!  I'm going to figure out a way to get out of here and do my job!!"  Someone said sounds like she has a killer work ethic.  I think she just knows that no work = no pay!  (She earns poker chips for good behavior and for doing her job and can cash them in for various rewards.)

Beef turkey?!?

Jamie took Kaylee grocery shopping.  I guess they got some free samples while they were there.  When they got back Kaylee came in and said, "I had beef turkey at the store!"  I asked her what that was and she said, "you know, turkey that you have to chew a lot."  I said, "oh, you mean beef jerkey!"  hah - Jamie said she kept calling it "beef turkey" at the store, too.

Baby #3

Little Caesar #3 is set to make his/her debut right around Christmas this year!  We had our 12 week ultrasound today and everything looks good! Of course baby is either modest or stubborn...legs crossed the whole time and while the tech was trying to check gender, even stuck a hand down there to cover up more!! Strong heartbeat - 160 beats/minute.

After we got home and picked up the kids from a friends' house, we told Kaylee and she is SUPER excited. I showed her one of the ultrasound images and she knew it was a baby and asked some questions then asked how they take the pictures from the mommy's tummy...I told her the doctors use a special machine to see inside, etc, then asked her who she thought the mommy was? She said she didn't know. I said, "I'm the baby's mommy." Her eyes got SO huge and she said, "we're having another baby?!??" and when I said yes she danced around the room for a few minutes singing "we're having another baby! We're having another baby!" I should have had a video camera rolling. It was seriously so cute!  She then went over to Andy and asked him if he wanted to have a new baby and he nodded and made his "yes" sound.  hah!

Shortly after all this, Kaylee and I were sitting on the couch and Andy climbed up, then onto me.  Kaylee looked scared and told him to get down, that he was going to break the baby!  Protective big sister already??

More of Andy's words

Some words Andy has either been saying that I forgot to put in the last post, or that he's started saying in the past few weeks...

*bath
*dance
*doctor (because of a book "Corduroy Goes to the Doctor" - he just calls it Doctor)
*fish
*kiss
*Mickey Mouse/Minnie Mouse = mama (if he just says mama he means Mickey, but if he sees Minnie, that's what he calls her, too)
*star
*thanks
*Thomas (as in, Thomas the Train)

Kaylee's 1st Dance Recital

Kaylee's first dance recital (tap and ballet) was a couple weeks ago. It was very entertaining, to say the least! Each class got to perform on their own and had about a 30 minute recital with mostly group performances but some pair and individual things. All the girls were very into it and all so cute!

She'll be starting another class for the summer in a couple weeks, with another recital to follow.

Of course I forgot to turn on the flash for the two darker photos above and those were my favorite shots! :( These are even after brightening them up a bunch in photoshop. Maybe next time I'll remember to check that the flash is on!

Kaylee later told me that she wasn't smiling for the group photos because her flower was squished and she was mad about it. Ahh, that's my girl!
