Wild Child

She may not look it here, but just after this photo, Ella did unleash her wild crying self. Wow, this kid is loud! The quiet moments are sure nice, though.

Dirty house

And this is why I get next to nothing done around the house these days...someone wants to be held all the time! Anyone have a spare set of arms I could borrow?? ;)

Our photographer friend Denise Crull came over on Jan 6th for some newborn photos of Ella. Here they are!

Tiny roller??

I put Ella on her stomach for some tummy time today and she must really hate it - she intentionally rolled over on to her back each of the 3 times I put her on her stomach. I gave up after 3 tries because she was so mad about it. I don't think Kaylee or Andy rolled from stomach to back until they were about 3 months old, so we'll see if she can do it again another time or if it was just a fluke.

Photos of baby sister

I caught a fleeting smile yesterday!  How cute is that baby girl?!?  Kaylee loves the picture of Ella with the headband on.  "Mommy, she's wearing my headband!"

Andy loves being a big brother!  He wants to hold Ella all the time, and is very sweet to her.  Future boyfriends, beware, you'll have to answer to Andy!  When I asked him, "where's Ella?" he pointed to her and said, "right here!"  That's his answer to any "where" question right now - either right here or right there.  So if you ask, "Andy, where are you?" you just hear him calling from wherever he is, "right here!"  :)

Another sweet big brother/baby sister picture, and the other one just made me laugh.  She squirmed to be on her side and the pacifier string covered her eyes like that.

1 week checkup

Ella's first visit to the pediatrician was Wed (she was 5 days old). According to the doctor, she is well!  She was 10lb 3oz at birth and 9lb 5oz when we left the hospital.  At her appointment she was back up to 10lb again already.  The only thing we asked the doctor about were a few birthmarks she has; we'd gotten various reports from doctors and nurses at the hospital as to whether or not they would fade on their own in time or not.  Most said they thought they'd fade, but one or two thought they would be permanent.  Two are pretty small and not of concern, but she has a large one on the left side of her chest that she might not appreciate later in life if it doesn't fade.  Consensus seems to be wait a while and see if they're fading on their own or not, so we'll go with that for now.  Otherwise, we'll have to take her to a dermatologist and figure out options from there.

All 3 kids in the car for the first time! & Ella with Daddy at the pediatrician's office.

Andy covered his ears and tried to escape the exam room when Ella would cry.

First photo with Daddy and Mommy!

Ella was not happy about her first bath, but did seem to enjoy having her hair washed and combed.

First photo with the whole family of five!

Ready to head home for the first time!

Big sister and brother were very excited about Ella's homecoming!  Kaylee can't get enough of her and wants to hold her and look at her all the time.  Andy enjoys having her around, too, and luckily hasn't shown any jealousy or resentment so far.  I expect that to change once she's crawling and getting into his things more, though maybe he'll be okay since he's used to Kaylee messing with all his stuff??
