2 month checkup

We took Kaylee for her 2 month appointment today. She is now 10 lb. 11 oz. and 23", so gaining weight appropriately. The pediatrician said not to worry about her seemingly gaining in spurts - that is normal. She's in the 66% for height and 44% for weight...long and lean...she still fits in newborn clothes around her body, but is getting too tall for them! So she's still wearing mostly newborn size, but has also progressed to some 0-3 month and a few 3 month size outfits (the footed pj's style, especially - when she stretches out, she's waaay too long for newborn size now!). Of course, she seems to be swimming in most of the sizes that are long enough for her, what with her skinny arms, legs and torso.

She was an angel again at this visit, smiling and cooing some for the doctor and nurse...until the nurse pulled out the vaccination needles! She did not like getting stuck (5 times! ;-( ), and we were both in tears by the time it was over, but she's doing well now. We got home and she was smiling and talking again after lunch, though she slept extra today (doc said that is normal and often happens after vaccinations). They also checked her left ear again (the quick check machine) and it still is not passing, so they referred us to an ear, nose and throat doc. We'll keep you posted.

On Monday we went to my parents' house for lunch and Kaylee had her first dip (just her feet!) in the pool. Was still a bit chilly for her in the water. She does love bathtime, though, so we figure she'll love pool time, too!

I also finally hung her name above her crib this weekend! Looks pretty cute!

  1. Poor Kaylee and poor Mommy. I remember those round of shots and I think I cried almost as much as Ethan did. At least that is the last time she'll get that many at once! Love the pics from Monday, she's so adorable.

  2. Whilst nannying I've been to those visits where the poor baby gets so many shots on one day. I nearly cried then, I can't imagine how you must feel when you're the Mom!
