See? Empty!
I got Kaylee a Donald Duck PEZ dispenser for her birthday, and her grandmother gave her a lamb one in an (early) Easter basket. Yesterday I put 1/2 of a candy packet (maybe 5-6 little candies) in one and she had fun pulling them out and eating them. I told her she could have the rest after Jamie got home from work so she could show him how she ate them. As soon as he walked in, she starting asking for more candies (kid's got a good memory). So I put the rest of the pack in, she ate it all then wanted more. I said, "you ate the whole pack!" She came over and looked at me with pleading eyes, handed me the dispenser and said, "just one more time, Mommy. Just one more." I told her she ate it all and the candies were all in her belly. She pulled up her shirt, looked at her belly, looked at us and said, "No it's not! See? Empty!" We were cracking up. (She did not get any more candies, but we did start a tickle fight instead. :) )

Come back!
Kaylee and I had a fun day yesterday. We had our Kindermusik class in the morning, then picked up Chick-fil-A for lunch and ate outside on a little picnic table we have (it sits about a foot off the ground so adults can sit and eat off a table - Kaylee just stood by the table). We were outside about an hour and a half, then Kaylee took a good nap and we went back out for more fun in the sun before Jamie got home and we had dinner.
During our picnic a small airplane flew past overhead and Kaylee ran out into the cul-de-sac yelling, "Come back, airplane! Come back, airplane! Come get me!" When it didn't come back, she held her hand out like she was sprinkling food on the ground and said, "Here, airplane, airplane! Here, airplane, airplane! Come back, airplane! Come get your food, airplane!" I was cracking up. A few minutes later a neighbor and her son got home and I told her about that. She asked Kaylee what she fed the airplane and she said, "cat food. Airplane likes cat food." Hah - I guess she got that from us giving Tigger treats and calling him ("here, kitty, kitty!") - she does run around the house calling him like that if she can't find him.

A few b-day photos
Here are a few photos from today - a couple egg hunt ones (pre and post) and some from her b-day party. She was VERY excited about her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday cake (yes, I made the cake again this year). From the time I put it out this afternoon until we got to eat it she was saying, "that's MY cake! I eat it now!" That's her and her cousin Nate hugging goodbye in the last photo.

Kaylee at 2
Kaylee on her birthday! She refused to stand still for a picture. A few minutes after I asked she was tormenting Tigger and about to get time out...but I gave her the choice of time out or taking a picture and she chose the picture option. (Win-win!) Curly hair after waking from her nap! (Plus it was a humid day.) See "2 year portraits" post below for what her hair usually looks like in the morning - not as curly. So crazy!

2 year portraits
We went for more photos yesterday morning. Kaylee did well, despite giving the photographer lots of fake smiles/laughs and concerned expressions for the first bit. She seemed wary of him (we didn't blame her, he wasn't the best photographer we'd had). Photos turned out well, nonetheless! We didn't order all these, but here are the ones we did, plus a few other funny/cute ones.
I ordered the shirt for her birthday, only afterward thinking she could wear it for the photos...if I had ordered it in time; I didn't know exactly when it would arrive. It came on Friday - just in time to wash and wear for Saturday's photo shoot-yay!! I love how it turned out in the pictures. Both dresses were recent consignment purchases and I love them! I'm also glad the hair bows and headband stayed on for all the photos; her hair is so fine that the bows will slip out without much provocation and if that doesn't happen, she often pulls them (or the headbands) off.

PS - did you notice the little green gummy snack in her hand in the last few photos? She wouldn't just eat it and held it through all those photos. At least it was a green one that mostly blends in with her dress!

Little thief?
Kaylee loves an episode of Backyardigans called "Robin Hood the Clean." She was calling it "Robin Clean" and I tried to get her to say the whole thing. Now she calls it "Robin the Hood Clean." We've had a few neighborhood break-ins lately, so I'm a little worried that the neighbors might mistake what she means... :)
